Bridges to a New Day is a dynamic, small, nonprofit counseling agency located in Romeoville, Illinois. Our mission is to provide prevention, intervention and educational services that foster non violence in the lives of children and adults. We are seeking a part time Counselor to join our counseling program which provides low and moderate income level adults and children with a low cost counseling resource. You will be providing direct client counseling services to adults, couples, children and/or families. And receive supervision and training towards Certification as a Domestic Violence Professional and your LCPC license.
In addition, you will be required to complete agency's 40 hour Domestic Violence training and proceed to earn your CDVP certification. The training and supervision is provided as part of employment. Complete agency paperwork in a timely manner. Conduct school based groups as assigned. Prepare and conduct agency's CEU workshops.
Great job for a new graduate or a season veteran who wants more experience working in direct services. We provide general counseling to all ages.
Education: Must hold a Master's Degree in counseling and be eligible for licensure (LPC preferred).
Experience: Strong clinical skills and experience working with children, adults and families as well as training in domestic violence preferred, including the 40 hour training but not a requirement. Any internship experience can be counted towards this requirement.
Additional Salary Information: Salary will be based on experience.
Small community nonprofit counseling agency that provides free domestic counseling to victims and their children; counseling program with a financial need component; and professional workshops. We are an Illinois Certified Domestic Violence Professional supervision, training and CEU site. While we accept insurance, our counseling services are provided to primarily low and moderate income level f...amilies and individuals (adults and children) by licensed and Master’s level counselors. The majority of clients we serve are part of the Darlene’s Program; a reduced fee program to help bridge the gap for client’s who do not have resources to obtain counseling. We see adults, children, families and couples. As part of Darlene's program, we also provide an in-school counseling group to children not eligible to receive special services through their school district.
Domestic Violence Program: Our domestic violence counseling program is staffed by trained, certified and licensed counselors. Counseling services are provided strictly for victims and their children. These free services focus on empowering women to achieve their goals and overcome the trauma they experienced.
