Silver Springs–Martin Luther School seeks a collaborative and strategically-minded finance executive and team player with strong fiscal management skills for its next Chief Financial Officer. Founded in 1859, The Silver Springs-Martin Luther School mission is to afford a home, education, and support for destitute or dependent children and provide mental health services for these children without distinction of creed, color, or country and to engage in related study and research. Silver Springs–Martin Luther School's main campus sits on over 35 acres outside of Philadelphia in Plymouth Meeting. The organization continues as a social ministry of the Southeastern Pennsylvania Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America.
The Chief Financial Officer will need to develop partnerships with various internal and external stakeholders, including Silver Springs' Program Directors, to support Silver Springs–Martin Luther School's strategic objectives over the next several years. This will include a thorough review of policies and procedures and a comprehensive review of the Finance Department's infrastructure/systems to ensure that the Finance Department is well-positioned to respond to the growing needs of the agency. The ideal person will need to have the propensity to look beyond the numbers to see trends and to seize possibilities and opportunities. This will involve thinking of creative financing options and leveraging Silver Springs–Martin Luther School's healthy balance sheet.
