The American Gastroenterological Association (AGA) is a society of physicians, surgeons, scientists and other individuals within the healthcare community who have a demonstrated and continued interest in the functions and disorders of the digestive system. The American Gastroenterological Association, based in Bethesda, Maryland seeks a sales coordinator to work with the Industry Sales Manager to prospect and generate sales leads for both exhibit space and sponsorships. The incumbent will also handle the administrative functions associated with sales.
Exhibit Booth Sales Management
Prospect new companies that would have a product or service that would be of interest to the attendees of DDW.
Develop and maintain the prospect database and work with the DDW Industry Sales manager to sell exhibit space and sponsorships opportunities to the current; past exhibitors and new prospects.
Maintain exhibitor and sponsorship files and records.
Coordinate and schedule all pre- and at- show sales.
Process new exhibit sales invoices
Coordinate the payment process with the Accounting Department to ensure payments are received on schedule.
Monitor payment of booth and sponsorship fees and follow up on all late or missing payments
Maintain exhibitor databases, such as Plantour, Salesforce interface, NetForum records.
Travel to, and where appropriate, exhibit at tradeshows to promote DDW to potential exhibitors, attendees and presenters. Trave toDDW Annual Meeting.
Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to function effectively in a fast-paced, deadline oriented, high-demand sales environment.
Must be a team player and manage high-pressure situations and multiple tasks simultaneously.
Experience in exhibit and sponsorship sales in an association setting a plus.
BA with a focus on business/sales/marketing preferred.
Familiarity with current Pharma and medical device issues a plus.
Highly professional, assertive, possesses a mature and positive attitude especially when dealing with colleagues, customers, vendors and other corporate contacts.
Must have Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook experience, experience with Salesforce.com a plus.
