The International Economic Development Council (IEDC) needs an accomplished Event Registrar and Database Manager to manage all aspects of conference and event registration. This key position also responds to customer enquiries and maintains database records related to registration. With more than 4,400 members, IEDC is the world’s largest association of professional economic developers. The Event Registrar and Database Manager reports to the Vice President of Finance.
Manage all aspects of attendee registration for our Annual Conference, Federal Forum, Spring Conference and Leadership Summit. The Registrar is also responsible for registration to our 25-30 Professional Development Courses per year and our 30+ webinars.
Manage database records related to the registration process, process credit card payments and assists the membership department in processing new membership applications and maintaining member records in the database.
Manage internal office supply inventory and ordering, equipment maintenance calls and other association support functions.
Manage the registration process for all IEDC events.
Create and mail confirmation letters and other registration-related support material.
Respond to members and customers enquiries.
Process credit card payments related to event registration.
Regularly report to board and staff on event registration progress towards goals.
Maintain complete and accurate customer records in the association’s database.
Process journal subscriptions and mail list rental requests.
Maintain proper inventory of office supplies and schedule office equipment maintenance.
Proven experience managing the event registration process both in house and on site.
Interpersonal skills – ability to work with diverse set of professions (research, sales, marketing, membership & leadership)
Experience working with membership databases. Experience with iMIS preferred.
Demonstrated ability to multitask while maintaining careful attention to detail.
Ability to work independently without close supervision
Above average verbal and written communication skills
Strong problem solving ability
Extraordinary flexibility – thrive in fast-moving, often-changing environment
Ability to travel 10-15% of time
Association experience desired
