The Executive Director is the chief administrator in the organization with overall responsibilities for planning, administration and management of all programs and internal systems. The Executive Director is responsible to the Board of Directors for all areas of agency operation and policy implementation.
Experience and knowledge in pupil transportation is desirable. Our organization expects to continue to strengthen and grow in terms of member services, educational programs and public policy formation and influence. It is the intent of our Board of Directors, in concert with our non-profit educational partner, the Cyr Foundation, to seek and retain the services of a professional who will sustain that growth and move NYAPT forward in accordance with our emerging needs as an association of school transportation and safety professionals.

About NEW YORK ASSOCIATION FOR PUPIL TRANSPORTATION
NYAPT is a non-profit membership organization dedicated to the development, representation and support of professionals engaged in the transportation of children to and from school.
We conduct two annual educational events; one in the summer which is our Annual Conference and one in February which is our mid-winter Winter Workshop. We also conduct webinars, regional workshops and seminars for our members, including supervisors, trainers, dispatchers, technicians and drivers/attendants.
We also are actively engage in public policy and advocacy activities to ensure sound policies and laws are enacted in New York that advance school bus safety.
NYAPT is governed by a 25 member board of directors and 7 standing committees. The Board is comprised of 6 officers and 19 local chapters. NYAPT is managed by an executive director and a part time membership coordinator. Legal and accounting services are currently out-sourced.
NYAPT has also created a 501-c-3 non profit educational foundation that partners with NYAPT on all educational programming.
The association has worked hard to establish itself as a spokesperson for the profession and to engage state and federal agencies... wherever needed to advance school bus safety.
NYAPT has some 375 active members who are supervisory in their workplaces and another 50-55 who are at the middle management levels.
