The Minneapolis College of Art and Design has an immediate opening for a full-time, benefits-eligible Accounting Associate (General Ledger) in our Business Office. Primary Function: Responsible for preparing daily deposits and updating cash flow reports; managing non-student accounts receivable and trade receivables; preparing journal entries, reconciliations, and monthly reporting for the unrestricted, restricted, endowment, and capital funds, as well as, maintaining files for those funds; reviewing and maintaining accurate financial records; assisting with general ledger records retention; and providing support for annual audits and external reporting.
Qualifications include: Bachelors Degree, in Accounting, Finance, or related field and a minimum of one year of related experience or Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field and a minimum of three years related experience. Experience in nonprofit fund accounting a plus. Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel applications required; experience with Great Plains a plus. This position requires strong, multi-tasking skills, excellent problem-solving skills and careful attention to detail. The ability to accept direction, yet work independently, is mandatory, as is the ability to work as part of a team. This position requires handling of confidential and sensitive materials.
