Director of Marketing

As NIGP's Director of Marketing, is responsible for overall NIGP branding and marketing for NIGP (Institute).  The Director of Marketing is a strategic, energetic, and innovative leader who will lead our marketing and communications efforts into an aggressive growth period and will be responsible for overseeing both traditional and digital marketing campaigns throughout the year as well as the creative direction of the NIGP Website. This position will oversee the management of department staff, programs, workflows and projects to assure timely and accurate rollout of processes and programs utilizing collaborative and consensus-building management techniques to lead departmental and cross-departmental projects. 

Beyond managing and contributing to the day-to-day functions, the successful candidate must have a proven track record in leadership, defining a vision and translating that into practical reality and implementing it across channels, products, and segments.

Our Ideal Candidate will have at least 10 years of experience working in a marketing/communication department, and minimum of five years of experience in a management/mentorship role. The NIGP marketing team supports the development and delivery of member products and services. The team is hard-working, committed to the mission and vision of the organization, and endeavors to provide first-class service and experiences to our members. Collaboration within this team as well as with your colleagues across the NIGP is essential.  No task is too small or mundane for anyone on our team. Your Key Responsibilities are:  

• Leading the strategies, messages and materials that promote our programs and activities
• Develop and execute long and short-range brand awareness strategies
• Coordinate with staff across the organization to promote our member products and services
• Oversee the development and distribution of social media material, news releases and other communications
• Directing the design, production, publication of print and online materials and other electronic communications, including our website
• Revitalizing the brand and voice of NIGP
• Develop and implement annual marketing and communications plan
• Develop and execute goals for online campaigns (content management for website, social media, e-mail newsletters, promotional marketing)
• Create a comprehensive internal and external social media strategy
• Develop and manage the marketing budget
