Infection Prevention Manager
In this role, you will manage the planning, development, implementation, evaluation/continuous improvement of an infection prevention and control program across the entire care continuum. You will collaborate with and make recommendations to the facility leadership team to ensure compliance with regulatory agencies and facility-wide/departmental policies and procedures that comply with current Regulatory standards. Through strategic planning, expert leadership and consultation, you will identify and implement infection control goals and objectives related to surveillance; data analysis and reporting; infection prevention and control practices that eliminate potential infection hazards for members, physicians, staff, and visitors; appropriate selection and usage of products and equipment related to cleaning, antisepsis, disinfection, and sterilization; facility design and construction. In addition, you will develop and implement educational programs designed to reduce or prevent infection as well as provide infection prevention and control programs/services that add value and are integrated with departmental, facility, and organizational business and clinical goals/objectives.
At least four years of experience in an acute care hospital utilizing knowledge of medical and surgical procedures, treatments, and patient management
A baccalaureate degree; a master’s degree in public health, epidemiology, environmental health, microbiology, or other public health related field preferred
CDC course or Certification in Infection Control
A current and valid California license to practice nursing or a related health care discipline (e.g. clinical laboratory science) preferred
The ability to demonstrate knowledge of microbiology, laboratory procedures, aseptic technique, and epidemiological techniques
The demonstrated ability to comprehend and utilize epidemiological/public health data and statistical methods; screen and interpret data results for variation and/or errors; apply organizational, problem-solving, decision making, and delegation and change management skills; and function as a liaison person, instructor/communicator, consultant, manager, and coordinator
The ability to work in a Labor/Management Partnership environment
