Boulder Day Nursery Association is seeking an exceptionally enthusiastic and skilled leader to take the reins of its highly-regarded, century-old, comprehensive nonprofit early learning center. Our executive leader serves as the administrative facilitator of all center operations and organizational mission activities. Our Executive Director will provide vision and mission direction for the center’s leadership team, including our outstanding staff of educators, as their committed partner for excellence.
Our executive leader serves as the face of Boulder Day Nursery to our client families and their children; to our base of individual and organizational donors; to the local and statewide network of early childhood education leaders; and to the local and state governmental and quasi-governmental organizations that both support and regulate our work. As our organization operates under a unique financing model combining earned income (tuition revenue), grant funding, and private donations, our ideal candidate will balance a love of young children with an affinity for business operations and fundraising leading to both short-term and long-term organizational stability.

Minimum Qualifications and Essential Skills
Experience working with a community-based organization, a nonprofit organization and/or an early childhood educational organization.
Demonstrated passion for early childhood learning along with a commitment to the vision and mission of Boulder Day Nursery Association, including providing high-quality child care and education to families of all income levels
Five or more years of progressive leadership experience and management responsibilities, with executive experience strongly desired
Experience creating, implementing, and managing for sustainability organizational budgets, fundraising plans, as well as an understanding of basic accounting language and principles
Computer and technology proficiency, data management, and internet-based applications
Proven time management and organizational skills
Proven team builder and ability to partner with team members in mission accomplishment
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including a proven ability to provide presentations to groups
Strong human capital management and leadership skills
Proven ability to lead and manage change
Ability to successfully clear CBI, FBI background checks, and TRAILS Registry
