Chicagoland Lutheran Educational Foundation (CLEF) is a nonprofit school foundation that supports Lutheran preschool, elementary and high schools in the City of Chicago. We provide funding for many school needs including scholarships, capital improvements, technology, and teacher salaries. Our services include educational consulting, teacher professional development and coaching, marketing assistance, special education, and school nursing.
This newly created position is a full-time salaried position. Work will be performed in our Bensenville office, with occasional local travel for donor meetings. The Development Coordinator reports to the Executive Director.
This position will assist the Executive Director in creating and implementing a strategic development plan, with a focus on diversifying our funding base.
Essential Job Functions
Assist Executive Director with all aspects of development cycle.
Manage prospect research and cultivation initiatives to secure giving from new donors.
Develop strategies to effectively move existing donors through a meaningful cycle of giving.
Cultivate business for our Community Partners program.
Develop monthly giving program.
Assist in planning and execution of fundraising events, including solicitation of in-kind donations.
Work collaboratively with our Marketing Coordinator to develop print and electronic communications to support development efforts.
Prepare donor acknowledgement letters.
Maintain donor database in Donor Perfect.
Bachelor’s degree required.
Minimum three years’ experience in development.
High degree of professionalism and excellent oral and written communication skills;
The right candidate will be able to juggle competing priorities, excel at organization skills, and have a high attention to detail and follow-through.
Proficient in computer usage including Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel, Google Calendar and Constant Contact.
Ability to work independently and take initiative to proactively identify resources and resolve problems.
Ability to conceptualize, initiate, monitor and evaluate new and/or current programs;
