If so, Outdoor Industry Association is looking for someone awesome who can fire people up and drive them to action, create cool content that educates and motivates our audiences while entertaining them, pushes our social content to creative, innovative spaces, and is smart about crafting the right message for the right audience. This ideal candidate also has the ability to put together a comprehensive social content campaign then track and report on campaign performance. You should be able to write, take photos and videos, hold a conversation on social and IRL, and quickly draft political or issues based messages.

Social Media Content Planning, Strategy, and Development
Build and manage the organization’s social media?platforms?and presence, including?Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, YouTube, and potentially additional channels (Snapchat, Periscope).?
Develop holistic social campaigns that drive results against business goals.
Create contagious, compelling content highlighting OIA's three pillars (sustainability, recreation policy, and outdoor participation) - appropriate for specific networks to increase the reach of the OIA brand, our?content, and activations.
Work with internal clients on their messaging and tone to craft content that is consistent and resonates with target audiences.
Work with OIA’s team and vendors to create content for owned, earned, and paid channels. This includes: copy for posts, short articles, photography, photo editing, and video (live and edited).
Work with OIA’s marketing team to generate creative campaigns that drive action on political issues, build advocates, and gain the attention of policy makers.
Identify new content types and innovative technologies that help us reach and serve new audiences.
Represent OIA with Key Audiences
Identify and build a network of key social contacts to work with for amplification, earned, and paid content.
Listen and engage in relevant social discussion about our organization, members, and industry, both from existing customers and leads and from brand new?audiences that don’t yet know us.
Explore new ways to engage and new social networks to reach OIA’s target audiences.
Campaign Management and Analytics
Run our outdoor advocate (influencer) network to keep the team engaged and informed. Drive amplification and rallying on outdoor industry issues.
Run regular social promotions and campaigns and track their success, ranging from Facebook live broadcasts, Twitter chats, Instagram takeovers, LinkedIn conversations to our private advocate groups.
Work with our vendor to develop, maintain, and report on our paid social campaigns.
Active and well-rounded personal presence on social media, with a command of each network and their best practices.
Knowledge and passion for driving change in the political landscape.
Experience working on projects around policy issues and/or issue-based campaigns
Excellent think-on-your-feet communicator and creative thinker, with an ability to use both data and intuition to inform decisions.
Proficiency in the major social media channels. Able to route relevant leads to the appropriate marketer, sales rep and/or support rep to social conversations.
Exceptional traditional writing and grammatical skills and a “flair” for using conversational language fitting for each social network.
Knowledge of digital and social tools: Google Analytics, HootSuite, Sprout Social, Later, etc.
Strong knowledge in Wordpress, PowerPoint, Excel and Google Analytics.
Ability to take awesome photos that tell the story of a moment.
Ability to create and manipulate graphics to support social campaigns using Adobe Photoshop or equivalent graphics platform.
Ability to quickly create short social videos.
Comfortable talking to complete strangers and getting them to smile for the camera.
Two-to-four years working in a social media position producing social campaigns
BONUS, not required:
Experience with content marketing and demand generation
Skilled in using Adobe Creative Suite.
