The Individual Giving Coordinator is responsible for providing support to the Fundraising and Development team for the cultivation and development of gifts of lower-level, mid-level and major gift individuals and family foundations. This individual will focus on prospect/donor research, outreach, program reporting for the retention, engagement and increased giving of major donors. Reports to the Major Gifts Officer.
Support Major Gifts Officer and other fund development staff to identify and cultivate donors and prospects to promote increased giving levels, renew lapsed donors and recruit participation in CFB events and donor activities.
Research and cultivate donors assigned by Major Gifts Officer.
Identify major donors and major gifts prospects for priority contact and outreach by Chief Development Officer and Chief Executive Officer; recommend cultivation and solicitation approach and strategy based on donor/prospect’s interests and giving history.
Assist fund development operations team with record keeping of contact activity and relevant constituent personal information within database.
Work collaboratively with all Development Department staff to share and coordinate donor information and strategy daily.
Assist with donor prospect identification within CFB 130,000 plus donor file; conduct wealth screenings and research giving activity of prospective major donors.
Assist with other development projects and initiatives as requested by the Major Gifts Officer, the Chief Development Officer, the Director of Fund Development Operations and the Corporate Development Manager.
Work with Development Department team to coordinate annual major donor recognition event during September Hunger Action Month and other community-based recognition events as planned.
Develop welcome package for new monthly sustainers and create and disseminate monthly CFB program updates newsletter for monthly sustainer program and for use with targeted groups of major donors.
Work with Chief Development Officer to plan and implement bi-annual sustainer recruitment/invitation mailing to targeted direct mail multi-giving donors.
Bachelor’s Degree and at least 3 years of experience in a development office of a nonprofit organization or equivalent experience in a for-profit customer service-oriented sales environment.
Excellent knowledge of development database management systems (DonorPerfect/Raiser's Edge/Siebel/Salesforce knowledge preferred.) Knowledge of nonprofit standards for gift recording and acknowledgment requirements.
Prior experience meeting fundraising goals. Must be computer proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel (including merges and formulas).
Ability to work on multiple projects at one time and set and stick to priorities.
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to interact with a wide range of personalities including staff, volunteers and members of the community.
