Compass High School is seeking an PE teacher & Athletic Coordinator to join our faculty immediately for the 2017-18 school year. Compass specializes in the education of students with learning differences. It is truly a unique and rewarding place for teachers to work with students with special needs. Students are highly motivated with few behavior problems. Teachers are able to devote themselves to teaching rather than paperwork or case management. Compass is a small school with a high level of teamwork among its faculty. Parents are highly involved and supportive.
The successful candidate will be able to teach two sections of high school physical education as well as serve as the school’s athletic coordinator. This role is a part-time (.5), is benefit eligible and requires the candidate to be available on most weekdays from ~1-5pm with some weekend commitments. We are looking for a candidate who is creative, uses multi-sensory teaching techniques, and is structured. Ideally a candidate will also have experience teaching physical education and/or coaching high school athletics.
