Summary: The position of Resource Development Manager requires strong organizational skills, proficiency with data-base management systems and excellent written and verbal communication skills. The RDM is responsible for assisting the Community Development Director to develop and implement annual fundraising and communication plans to ensure New Life Center achieves and exceeds its fundraising goals. The RDM will assist with fundraising initiatives including donor engagement and stewardship activities and utilize the donor database to generate donor reports and help manage donor relations. The RDM will research, write and manage corporate and foundation grants and lead special event planning, implementation and follow up processes.
NLC is seeking a passionate Resource Development Manager to join our high-performing Community Development Team!
Primary Roles and Responsibilities
Donor Support and Stewardship
Participate with the development team to develop and implement annual fundraising plan and donor stewardship and solicitation plans and activities
Contribute to the development and maintenance of comprehensive annual calendar and corresponding activities for the department
Create written content and support internal and external communications for the agency
Represent New Life Center in the community and help build and maintain relationships
Grant Writing and Grant Management
Identify, pursue and obtain ongoing and new sources of community support from public and private organizations, faith communities and individuals
Lead grant writing research, activities and solicitation of grants and ensure timely and complete submissions
Coordinate with finance and program staff to assess agency needs for grant requests and develop grant budgets
Manage grant calendar, reporting and deliverables
Provide monthly reports which measure progress towards development goals
Work with appropriate staff and volunteers to ensure that all aspects of NLC’s events are successful and coordinated towards a common goal
Conduct, lead planning, event logistics, coordination and follow up of all BDL activities
Conduct, coordinate, manage and schedule Brighter Day Tours
Assist with facilitation of third party fundraising activities and assist community members to fundraise on behalf of New Life Center
Work in conjunction with the Volunteer Coordinator to assist marketing and soliciting in-kind donations and in-kind donation drives on behalf of NLC
Maintain knowledge of Agency’s philosophy and fundraising model and practice and how it relates to the community.
Help ensure the smooth operation of the office and the development department
Support and adhere to all policies regarding resident and program confidentiality
Perform other duties as directed by the Community Development Director and/or the Executive Director
Contribute to the safe and therapeutic milieu of New Life Center
Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 4 years of experience in nonprofit fundraising or other related field. Other combination of education and experience will be considered
Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, Adobe Acrobat, PowerPoint, common social media platforms and donor database management systems. Experience with eTapestry preferred
Grant writing experience required
Be bondable by fidelity
Obtain Class 1 fingerprint clearance
Must be at least 21 years old
CPR/First Aid Certification required
Negative TB test required
Possess valid Arizona driver’s license
Ability to accommodate a flexible schedule, including some nights and weekends, dependent on scheduled fundraising activities
