HMS School for Children with Cerebral Palsy is a Special Education Independent School located in University City, West Philadelphia PA and has a part-time/4 day opening for a Business Operations/Risk Manager. Responsibilities include:
With an understanding of all aspects of the school’s operations, managing, evaluating all business insurances, working with and developing business relationships with brokers.
Having primary responsibility for all aspects of contracts/agreements, except for student enrollment contracts; managing contractor relationships, assuring all required qualifications are submitted, for contracts with a variety of organizations, vendors, providers, universities, and hospitals.
Providing necessary administrative rights responsibility for documentation to PA DOE online data systems, such as PIMS.
Providing administrative responsibility for all non-PA Department of Education state documentation submissions
Performing School-wide Risk Management duties by assuring currency and compliance with centralized documents related to:
Managing and maintaining city/state/federal permits, licenses, correspondence; assuring compliance; preparing for and participating in inspections, re-inspections as required.
Assuring currency and compliance with the school’s Recycling program
Drafting new policies applicable to changing regulations/contract requirements as needed
Working with the Director of Facilities in maintaining and securing HMS key inventory.
Working with the Director of Facilities in planning emergency response and fire drills and maintaining records
Updating documents, coordinating with internal and external participants for the school’s ERP drill programs, including staff training
Working with Directors and Managers regarding currency of ERP Business, Finance, IT, and HR Continuity sections; Designing and maintaining campus layout in conjunction with AHERA, ER Planning and other special projects
REQUIREMENTS: At least five years’ experience in the Business Insurance/Risk Management Field, preferably in a school nonprofit setting. Experience reviewing, negotiating, and managing contracts required as well.
HMS School is a small, private Special Education school for children and youth with motor impairments who may also have other disabilities resulting from brain injury.
