SmithBucklin, a 100 percent employee-owned association management company, is hiring an Executive Director to work closely with the board of directors for its client, Human Resources Management Association of Chicago (HRMAC), based in our Chicago office. The goal of this leadership role is to function as HRMAC’s President & CEO, working closely with the board, human resource leaders, service providers and business executives to demonstrate the value HRMAC brings to the community. This person will work with HR leaders to craft programs and membership activities that are highly valued, and promote the organization’s position in the human resources community as a thought leader through well researched, planned and implemented programs, curriculum and publications.
HRMAC began in 1915 with a group of seven people who met informally to discuss common people and human resources issues. Today, HRMAC is Chicagoland's premier resource for advancing workplace strategy and leadership. HRMAC membership is comprised of nearly 750 Chicago area organizations with a network of over 7,000 HR professionals representing small private companies to multi-national public corporations from every business sector.
HRMAC's mission is to serve as a thought leader and recognized authority on workforce developments impacting the Chicago area business community by providing high quality, state-of-the-art learning and development opportunities for the human resources community; fostering professional relationships among members with a common interest in enhancing business results through people strategies; and being the professional association of choice for the greater Chicago area.
With an unmatched tradition of fellowship, education and leadership, HRMAC recently concluded its 100th anniversary celebration and remains committed to serving the human resources community in advancing the impact of progressive HR strategies on business success.
The timing of attracting a new leader coincides with both an exciting and critical time in HRMAC’s history. The new leader will have both the opportunity and the challenge to drive meaningful transformation while re-invigorating the organization in several ways including: (a) enhancing clarity around the value proposition; (b) rethinking the format and revenue model of signature events; (c) ensuring the use of salient advances in communication technologies to reach the desired audience.
