Alford Executive Search, a division of KEES, has been exclusively retained by Imerman Angels in its search for a new Senior Director of Development (Sr. DOD). Reporting directly to CEO/Executive Director Ben Bornstein, the Sr. DOD will provide a strategic fundraising vision and subsequently lead and implement all philanthropic functions.
The Sr. DOD will have the opportunity to strategize and build a dynamic fundraising program that will include major giving, planned giving, corporate and foundation giving and events. The successful candidate will have experience in creating and implementing an innovative and diversified fundraising program that includes individual, corporate and foundation donors, as well as large-scale events. The Sr. DOD will be a self-starter who is passionate about the care and support of those fighting cancer and their caregivers. The exceptional candidate will possess a strong ability to make human connections with donors of all abilities and be able to tell the stories of those whose lives have been touched by Imerman Angels.

Specific Requirements Include:
A demonstrated passion for the mission and vision of Imerman Angels.
A minimum of 5-7 years of progressive fundraising and development experience; preference may be given to those who have experience working for a health-focused charity.
Proven ability to build solid, trusting relationships with donors in all facets of the donor continuum, including individual, corporate and foundation donors.
Strong leadership and organizational skills.
A minimum of 3 years of experience managing a team of professional fundraising and/or marketing staff.
Excellent verbal and non-verbal communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to set and achieve or exceed goals.
Career track record that shows stability with an organization and a capacity to develop and nurture relationships that culminate in major gift success.
Bachelor’s degree required; CFRE or advanced degree preferred.
