Illinois REALTORS® is looking for a graphic designer to join its staff based in Springfield, Ill. As part of the Communications team, the person in this role will work with multiple departments on projects ranging from layout and design of the association’s quarterly magazine to the creation of booth displays for Illinois REALTOR® events.
We’re looking for someone with a track record of creating eye-catching visuals which will captivate members and consumers alike. Core skills necessary for this job include an ability to handle multiple assignments, work in a member-driven environment, meet deadlines, communicate clearly and work in partnership with other association teams.
•Develop design concepts and solutions which reflect creativity and convey impact: The graphic designer will help shape how we present the association’s story to its members and the public. We’re looking for someone who can brainstorm an idea and carry it through to completion, and do so with flair.
•Produce the association’s quarterly Illinois REALTOR® magazine: This person will build pages, monitor and adhere to production deadlines, act as liaison with the magazine’s printer and the post office and coordinate with content providers. Ensure pages and graphics produced are in the correct formats and serve as point person for troubleshooting production issues.
•Produce material for print and digital platforms: The person in this role will handle a variety of projects ranging from special pull-out graphic pieces for the magazine to programs and promotions for the association’s special events. We are looking for someone who can design elements for use in our social media efforts and for use with video production.
•Make changes to and build pages on the association’s websites: Illinois REALTORS® is in the process of transitioning to a new WordPress website. Our graphic designer will work as part of the project’s web transition team. We are looking for someone who can shape content on the website and make the cosmetic changes necessary to support association initiatives. While extensive computer programming knowledge is not required, an understanding of how content management systems operate and basic HTML and/or CSS coding is helpful.
•Serve as part of a planning team: The association has numerous departments working on member- and public-facing initiatives. The graphic designer will play a key role in coordinating to make sure our print and online communication is exceptional.
•Write, edit and proofread for the association’s various platforms: Although this role is primarily focused on visual presentation, a successful candidate will be able to write, edit and proofread copy and visuals. The graphic designer will take comments/suggestions from staff members and reflect them in the final product.
•Work on Mac and/or PC platforms and corresponding programs: The association produces its graphics with the Adobe Creative Suite. A thorough knowledge of In Design, Photoshop and related programs used in production is required. Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs is essential.
•Maintain brand standards: Ensure print and digital work meets the association’s brand standards of clean, easy to recognize design.

•Other duties as assigned.
