Rawson Saunders is the only full-curriculum school in central Texas exclusively for students with dyslexia. Currently serving 200 students, our school is recognized internationally as a leader in innovative teaching methods tailored specifically to the way students with dyslexia learn. Through individualized, multisensory, research-driven instruction within small class sizes, we cultivate our students' strengths while effectively addressing their needs. The Director of Development at Rawson Saunders School is responsible for leading and managing the development program, raising funds for operations, endowment and a capital initiative to build a new and permanent home for our growing school.
Essential Job Functions
Develop and implement a multi-year development plan that includes annual plans for maximizing philanthropic support from alumni, parents, individuals, foundations and corporations
Support strategy, scheduling, logistics and follow up of visits for the Head of School and fundraising volunteers as appropriate.
Secure donations via major gifts, annual appeals, events, foundation and corporate grants, and online giving.
Identify, cultivate, solicit and steward annual fund and major gifts, focusing primarily on alumni and parents. Maintain an active portfolio of prospects and monitor progress using moves management.
Write grant proposals and reports to funders as required.
Lead the capital fundraising effort, including the planning, implementation, launch and completion of a multi-year capital campaign.
Produce marketing materials such as newsletters, brochures, annual report, and other fundraising materials.
Maintain donor database and oversee donor acknowledgments.
Design and implement an annual stewardship plan.
Begin to develop an alumni relations plan that supports fundraising and opportunities for students.
Support the Board Development Committee, fundraising committees and other volunteers as needed.

Bachelor’s degree and 4 years of nonprofit fundraising experience required.
Face to face solicitation experience and a successful record of identifying prospects, cultivating relationships and soliciting gifts.
Capital campaign experience preferred.
Experience working with a parent and alumni base for prospective donors preferred.
Measurable results in organizing and implementing the following: major gifts, annual gifts, grant writing, corporate and foundation giving, direct mail and special events.
Excellent written and oral communication.
Initiative, research and organizational skills.
Interest and enthusiasm for working with people and advancing the important mission of Rawson Saunders.
