ASSISTANT DIRECTOR, CAREER COUNSELING AND TRAINING, Global Education and Career Development (GECD)-Career Services-Career Counseling and Education, to oversee all aspects of individual client services and manage the career assistant intern training program. Will manage individual career development services and related staff training programs; manage/oversee core career development programs/services, e.g., program plan development, needs assessment, budget and promotional planning, evaluating results, reporting, coordinating staff and logistics, etc.; manage all aspects of individual client services, including drop-ins and appointments with counseling staff and career interns; manage career appointments (e.g., career advising/counseling, mock interviews, resume/cover letters, self-assessment, job offer negotiations, etc.) and drop-in service scheduling and manage online appointment scheduling system; oversee/manage the Career Assistant Intern Program, including recruiting, training, staff evaluation, coordinating interns and supervisors, budgeting, and assessment; and manage counseling staff training, including assessing needs, developing a workshop/programs/events roster, engaging trainers, and evaluating program quality. GECD collaborates to develop global-ready graduates by helping students develop and implement their educational and career plans and participate in global education experiences.
REQUIRED: bachelor's degree (master's preferred) in student affairs, counseling, higher education, student services, or related area; three years' experience in a career center or higher education setting related to career development (those with relevant academic and/or industry experience also considered); demonstrated career counseling ability, including in-depth knowledge of the academic, nonprofit, and industrial job markets for those with advanced degrees; strong presentation and written and oral communication skills; and ability to lead cross-functional teams with diverse populations and work both independently with minimal supervision and as a team member.
