Advertised Summary Job Description: Reporting to the Director of the International Security Policy (ISP) Concentration and the Director of the International Conflict Resolution (ICR) Specialization, the incumbent manages the day-to-day administration of the Concentration and Specialization with duties ranging from student advising to program development and event coordination, financial administration, alumni engagement, data collection and analysis, and critical liaison work with the student affairs, career services and other operational divisions of the School of International and Public Affairs.
Student Advising and Support ? Assesses student advising needs and advises students on specific concentration and specialization requirements, directing them to additional resources (e.g., Student Affairs for curricular requirements, and ISP or ICR faculty for advanced academic advising). Works with Career Services and the Directors to facilitate communication with potential employers of ISP and ICR graduates through outreach and events.
Curriculum Development ? Drawing on knowledge of the field of public policy and international affairs, assists with curriculum development and faculty recruitment as needed. Duties include collecting, organizing and analyzing data helpful in developing the curriculum, including current and prospective curricular offerings, course evaluations, etc. Conducts internet research on potential adjuncts or other affiliates drawing on familiarity with the ISP and ICR fields of study and major stakeholders in the same. Informs faculty and students of changes in the curriculum, and keeps Student Affairs and other SIPA offices informed of the same. Supports capstone workshops as needed. Updates CourseWorks sites and assists faculty members in updating materials.
Program Development and Coordination ? Coordinates logistics for ISP and ICR meetings, retreats, lectures, special seminars and other activities, directing student staff in making room reservations, food arrangements, preparing materials and publicity, taking minutes, and doing the related follow up. Manages updates and revisions of the ISP and ICR websites and calendars.
Financial Administration ? Coordinates annual ISP and ICR budgets totaling $20,000, maintaining a spreadsheet of expenses to advise the directors of available funding and unmet needs, and troubleshooting and processing bills and invoices. Supports fund-raising and grant management activities for ISP and ICR workshops, special events or other activities. Supports ISP and ICR workshops, including student travel arrangements and reimbursements. Coordinates student staff efforts relating to travel arrangements, reimbursement, correspondence, and other activities as needed.
Data Administration ? Prepares statistical reports for the Directors on enrollment, student progress, graduate employment, etc. Directs student staff on updating registration and degree audit forms and other concentration/specialization materials as needed. Oversees the administration, analysis and presentation of student surveys as needed.
Alumni Relations ? Works with SIPA's Office of Alumni Relations to maintain and strengthen ties to alumni, including helping maintain current employment and contact information for alumni and organizing alumni-student-faculty events.
Supervision ? Working with the Directors and other staff, recruits, trains and oversees hourly employees.

General Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree or equivalent required. Must have at least one year of directly related professional experience.
Additional Specific Minimum Qualifications: Must have excellent oral and written communication skills and organizational ability. Must have strong computer skills, including spreadsheets and/or databases. A strong customer service orientation is essential, with proven ability to work with diverse populations.
Preferred Qualifications: Advanced degree in public policy and/or international affairs preferred. Prior experience in higher education or nonprofit administration highly preferred. Prior experience in program coordination highly desirable. Familiarity with the fields of security policy and conflict resolution strongly preferred.
