FULL-TIME SOCIAL MEDIA AND DIGITAL COMMUNICATIONS COORDINATOR WANTED
The Citizens Utility Board (CUB), a membership-based organization and one of Illinois’ premier consumer watchdog groups, has an opening for a full-time, entry-level Social Media and Digital Communications Coordinator. What you’ll be doing:
Helping to manage the technical aspects of CUB’s e-newsletter campaigns, using Luminate Online to build gripping, visually pleasing emails that target appropriate audiences and build membership loyalty.
Showing a flair for graphic design and applying solid writing skills to create powerful, informative content (posts, videos, photos, etc.) for CUB’s e-newsletters, website, blog, Facebook, and Twitter pages.
Helping develop, implement, and maintain digital media strategies that align with CUB's brand, supports CUB’s goals and includes membership renewal campaigns and special promotions to encourage participation and eventual membership.
Identifying new ideas and opportunities by monitoring best practices, and measuring the effectiveness of digital media campaigns using all reporting/analytical tools available.
Seeking ways to grow social media and e-newsletter audiences.
Providing general assistance to CUB’s Communications Department, as needed.
What we need from you:
Commitment and passion for public interest work.
Experience in marketing automation software and cloud-based contact management tools, preferably Luminate Online and Luminate CRM (Salesforce).
Basic knowledge of content management system, preferably Wordpress.
Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, and Adobe Illustrator).
Strong analytical skills (experience with Google Analytics a plus) to detect what makes content and online campaigns successful, and then build upon it.
Strategic and creative thinker with a solid grasp of digital outreach, and with the energy and enthusiasm required to identify emerging trends, brainstorm fresh ideas, and tap into new technologies.
Strong writing and proofreading skills, and intense attention to detail.
Degree in Journalism, English or a communications-related field preferred.
