TAGT is seeking a new team member to fill the role of Events & Communications Coordinator. This is a full-time position with the primary responsibility of providing support and coordination for a wide variety of TAGT programs and projects. This includes coordinating logistical duties necessary to plan, support and carry out various aspects of association events and activities; performing detailed administrative tasks for the Director of Events & Professional Development and the Marketing & Communications Manager.
The Events & Communications Coordinator must be self-motivated and demonstrate the ability to collaborate with other TAGT employees in fast-paced, flexible environment. The position requires keen organizational skills, as well as the proven ability to manage and organize detailed process and procedures to support membership efforts and office functionality. Moderate travel is required (conferences and events).
High school diploma or its equivalent
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
Highly skilled in MS Office Suite and experience with databases, internet and file management
Experience with word processing, spreadsheets, email, data entry, management of database software
Interaction with/understanding of professional educators
Experience working with content management systems, social media and mobile applications, and Adobe Creative Suite
Bilingual skills highly desirable

The Texas Association for the Gifted & Talented (TAGT) is a statewide 501(c)3 charitable not-for-profit organization of more than 3,000 educator and parent members dedicated to meeting the needs of gifted and talented students. TAGT recognizes the unique social, emotional, and intellectual needs of these students and provides educational services to meet these needs. The TAGT office is located in Austin and operations are managed and facilitated by 6 full-time employees.
