Family Shelter Service, a nonprofit providing help and hope for victims of domestic violence and their children for over 40 years, is looking to hire a self-directed and motivated Annual Giving Coordinator.
Our ideal candidate isa highly successful strategic fundraiserwith excellent skills building face-to-face donor relationships.
This full time (40 hours/week) position plays a key role in Family Shelter Service Advancement Department and will work collaboratively with the Director of Advancement and Advancement Team on the growth of fundraising efforts to ensure the agency’s mission.
The position is responsible for the strategic execution and management of a comprehensive annual fund campaign focused on creating sustainable annual support through building a culture of philanthropy across the agency.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Works with the Director of Advancement and the Advancement Associate to create and implement a dynamic donor-centered, tiered cultivation and stewardship program, including all donor recognition and communication.
Builds relationships with current donors and prospects to increase the number of annual donors giving under $1,000, especially recurring donors and volunteer donors. Maintains personal portfolio of donors to cultivate and steward into the Heartwood Program.
Stewards and manages the recurring giving program to increase annual support. Works closely with Marketing & Events Coordinator to create and implement a marketing and communication strategy.
Builds relationships with faith communities and local organizations to increase annual support and raise awareness through presentations, written proposals and community engagement.
Provides support to Director of Advancement, Executive Director, Board Advancement Committee, and Board of Directors in their efforts to build relationships with annual leadership donors and major donors.
Works closely with Marketing & Events Coordinator to execute all donor communications and mailings.
Assists Marketing & Events Coordinator to ensure quality donor/prospects experiences at fundraising, cultivation and stewardship events.
Creates and implements fundraising and friend-raising tools and training for all staff, Board of Directors, Committee Members and Volunteers to support a culture of philanthropy.
Supervises Volunteer Advocate to ensure agency volunteer needs are met and a positive volunteer culture that leads to greater support of the mission. Leads effort to increase volunteer giving.
In conjunction with the Advancement Associate, designs procedures to ensure all donor information, giving, relationships and moves management is tracked in DonorPerfect Online.
Serves as Family Shelter Service representative at community events as needed.
Assists Director of Advancement and Board Advancement Committee as needed.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Supervised by the Director of Advancement.
Supervises the Volunteer Advocate.
Works closely with the Marketing & Events Coordinator and the Donor Relations Manager.
Works in partnership with the entire Advancement Team.
Establishes and maintains relationships with current donors, donor prospects, faith communities, organizations, volunteers, Board Members and Committee Members as appropriate.
Qualifications and Characteristics:
Education: Bachelors Degree required.
Experience: A minimum of 5-7 years of donor-centered, relationship building experience at a nonprofit. Must be self-motivated with a positive attitude and be able to take initiative. Must be detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple projects at a time while meeting deadlines.
Training:Must demonstrate strong problem solving and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Technical:Must be able to learn donor databases, such as DonorPerfect Online.
Social Skills:Must be a collaborative team player.
Leadership:Must demonstrate professionalism, flexibility, and good judgment.
Position requires evening and weekend hours for events and other meetings as needed.
Must have privately owned vehicle, valid drivers license and liability insurance. Travel between locations and partnering sites required.
Must be able to operate general office equipment.
Must be able to stand/walk for periods of time and lift up to 25 lbs.
