General purpose: Responsible for data integrity through database support systems as well as providing timely gift/pledge entry to assist fundraising activities.
Summary of Essential Functions: • Provide database administration support for the fundraising database • Process gifts and pledges • Ensure the integrity of data residing in the database • Complete various project-driven assignments lead by the Director of Advancement Services
Essential Duties & Responsibilities: • Work with the Director of Advancement Services to provide database support for systems-related projects including preparation and execution of processes to import/export data on multiple database platforms utilizing various database tools • Prepare routine and special reports, queries, and exports from fundraising database in support of Advancement staff • Provide gift administration support including entering all gifts/pledges into fundraising database with accuracy and attention to detail • Provide document imaging and other support in conjunction with gift administration • Prepare gift receipts and acknowledgements as needed • Responsible for completion of data loads and global updates Advancement Systems Specialist • Assist with other various gift administration functions, including documentation organization and research • Provide other data entry functions in support of constituent information in fundraising database • Prepare and disseminate daily gift reports to the President’s Office • Provide and distribute information to the Advancement Department • Document all advancement system related policies, processes and procedures • Provide general data analysis as needed • Assist with development special events • Perform other related duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: • Proficiency with fundraising donor databases, Raiser’s Edge experience preferred • Gift/Donor tracking/transaction experience • Advanced skills with Excel. • Basic knowledge of SQL and Access • Ability to communicate effectively with others, promote teamwork, problem solve, and interpret and apply institutional policies and procedures • Ability to take initiative to be proactive and self-motivated to complete projects
Minimum qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in relevant course of study • Proven technical experience supporting and developing databases and/or data analysis. • Relevant professional experience in advancement services, database administration or related area • Strong background and familiarity with professional standards and practices related to charitable giving • Experience with relational database applications • Excellent verbal and written communication and proofreading skills • Ability to maintain confidential information discreetly
Preferred Qualifications: • Experience with Raiser’s Edge fundraising database • Experience in fundraising environment, especially in College/Nonprofit setting • Self-starter with ability to work independently as well as a team player • Experience with multiple database environments
