The Assistant Director of Advancement reports directly to the Director of Advancement and is responsible for identification, cultivation and solicitation of alumni and parents to support the annual Clipper Fund Campaign; additionally, the Assistant Director of Development will aid in identifying and moving prospects to the Director of Advancement and Director of Capital and Major Giving.
Key Responsibilities to include:
Oversee all areas of alumni and parents relations;
Develop and oversee programs and initiatives to increase participation in alumni and parent associations;
Overseeing the Clipper Fund, by creating, writing and executing all outreach;
Schedule Alumni Regional and Networking events in coordination with the Director of Advancement;
Work internally with Student Coordinating Council and Alumni Coordinator to cultivate opportunities for senior class giving;
Provide hands on oversight of special events as designated by the Director of Advancement, events may include but not limited to golf outings, gala, alumni anniversaries etc. The Assistant Director of Development will assist the Director of Advancement and Director of Capital and Major Gifts to research, identify and cultivate major gift and planned giving prospects.
A portfolio of 100-150 will be managed by the Assistant Director of Advancement.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree. 3-5 years professional experience in fundraising is required. Nonprofit experience is a plus. Candidate should have strong interpersonal skills, both written and oral, as well as a high level of sophistication and maturity in social and professional settings. Curiosity and analytical thinking, global perspective; complex problem solving; ability to organize, prioritize and complete multiple projects simultaneously with close attention to detail meet deadlines and work in a fast-paced environment. A general level of comfort when dealing with high net worth individuals, and an ability to maintain discretion and high level of confidentiality when dealing with significant benefactors. The Assistant Director of Advancement must have the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues in a team environment.
