The accounting specialist carries out the financial strategies of Premier Choice and its growing base of association management clients by successfully and accurately leading, managing, implementing, and performing all finance and accounting activities in a fast paced, ever-changing environment. Responsibilities: 1.Communication with partners on a daily basis to ensure consistency in, and provide information regarding, all financial matters 2.All accounting processes and procedures for Premier Choice and its association management clients including accounts receivable (ecommerce, credit card processing, etc.), accounts payable, payroll, account reconciliation, dues processing, expense tracking, and grant management accounting 3.Financial management to include non-profit and board financial statements, monthly reporting for PCAM and its client organizations, and effective communication with association treasurers 4.Regular account analysis and activity audits of client programs 5.Facilitation of the external accounting firm’s annual accountant review, audits, tax preparation, and reporting 6.Recommend automation, process improvements, etc. 7.Other duties as assigned Key Performance Indicators: •Accuracy of work •Meet deadlines Competencies: •Quality and client focus—extreme accuracy and attention to detail in all work while meeting deadlines and clients’ expectations •Systems thinking—develop and maintain processes that can and will be reused and replicated, although not always in the exact manner as before •Communication—written, verbal, listening, reports, and presentation •Interpersonal—ability to build relationships, act as a team player, and resolve conflict while maintaining relationships •Self-development—stays abreast of trends/developments in the association management industry and accounting field; forward thinking •Problem solving, decision making, leadership, managerial courage, using common sense, research, self-awareness, organizational, planning, analysis, multi-tasking, critical thinking, tolerance of ambiguity, and prioritization
Knowledge/Education: •2 years of directly related accounting experience (multi-organizational preferred) •Associate’s degree required, Bachelor’s degree preferred (accounting, business, or finance preferred) •Experience with QuickBooks or other similar software, Microsoft Office •Experience with non-profit and/or association management organizations a plus
